Happy National Seniors Day

Canada celebrates #NationalSeniorsDay today as a way to thank them for their efforts in making homes, societies, and workplaces better places for everyone.

No matter where you are, there shouldn’t be any excuse to show your appreciation to the seniors close to you. It doesn’t need to be fancy, sometimes the best gifts are those that doesn’t cost anything. How can you let them know you care for them? Keep on reading.

Give them a call

It’s ironic that we have all the means to communicate with our loved ones, yet we always find ourselves out of time to actually keep in touch. It happens. This makes a simple phone call and how-are-you more impactful. Just ask them if there’s anything new with them and maybe share what’s happening with you too. They will sure love hearing what you have been up to.

Walk down the memory lane

If you’re lucky to live close to them, maybe take it a notch up and visit them. Pull out those old photos and spend some time asking them about the time back them. You may find yourself surprised to hear some stories about your family that you’ve never heard before.

Learn a new hobby with them

When people started staying at home and quarantining, they find themselves looking for a new hobby. Who would be a better person to learn a new hobby from aside from those who have lived through a time without smartphones? Yes, they surely are the wise ones. They grew up having to entertain themselves so you may end up learning a thing or two after spending a day baking, painting, or playing a musical instrument
